HELP WANTED

I'm looking for somebody to help me mod this thing. I don't anticipate any major policing being needed, but y'know, helping me keep the tags in order and make sure nothing breaks. If you're interested, please PM me.

Also, we could seriously use some bitchin' custom graphics for this thing. I just picked the ready-made layout I liked best and stuck it on, but if somebody were to make us an awesome header that fits our srs-business theme, that would be cool. We could also use an icon.

So, uh, I guess this is the pilot post. How y'all doing. The concept for this community is Axis Powers Hetalia fics and art and things that have serious themes. Also open for discussion on how you go about un-cracking or rationalizing Hetalia in a serious way. And... That's that. Since it's brand new and I don't have a lot of experience running communities or designing layouts, it would be super awesome if you could post suggestions or things that would be good to put in the bio on our community info. I suppose I should probably put together a list of rules too. Any suggestions for those beyond "Don't be an ass-hole"?

Heh, yeah, I've been going backand forth for a month now thinking "Do I really want to commit myself to this? But I really want a community like this and I can't find one..."

I've been hoping for a comm like this for a while and I'm looking forward to seeing how this works out. I'd help out with graphics, but I'm horribly inexperienced :/

As for rules, how about one to state the obvious of this should have something to do with a historical event/serious event?

Have you tried making a layout request at hetaliagraphics? I'm sure someone there could whip something up.

I'll probably do that. Right now I'm looking through art on Safebooru to see if I find anything that just pops.

Probably unwanted help but, could draw a banner/icon for the layout if you don't have any pics for that already.

That would be awesome! I looked through a lot of pictures yesterday, but couldn't really decide on anything... How to embody un-crack is hard... Maybe I should make a post about that, asking people what they'd like for themes...

This would be like putting a sieve through the consciousness of the Hetalia fan and getting the series stuff in one place. I like cracky stuff too but lately, it's the more historically based fics that pull me. So count me in!

I'll PM you in a bit about the mod position. I mod [info]4_d_luv_of_fuji and it's not as hard as you'd think. It's a fairly quiet community.

I also like the idea of the comm; there's a lot of good serious stuff out there, for the people who were drawn into Hetalis because they were history geeks.

To start with, it might be a good idea to start index posts with reccomendations of authors who deal with the serious, historical side? Off the top of my head - [info]mithrigil, [info]puella_nerdii, and [info]lindensphinx, [info]the_chosen_end, [info]rumbling_rose.

We could also do requests.

I've done some modding on low-traffic communities, if you're still looking for a comod.

We've got three mods now, and I think that'll do, but thanks for the offer. And yeah, fic-recs is a great suggestion, I was thinking that at some point but it's hard to remember when I sit down at the computer and I'm trying to remember all the stuff I wanted to put down...

thanks for inviting me there (i'm always more versed in dark themes and realistic upside in things than just the crack, as most of my fics show...)

I will definitely enjoy this community. ^^

besides, hetalia still has a fantasy side despite its dark, promising seriousness, so I also like to include that. :) thanks for also liking my england shot ^^

besides, apart the crack, what got me into hetalia was the history side. it called out numerous days spent researching on details in order to write fanfics XD

i am not sure if you're still asking for help with the graphics, but i guess i could try to help out with icons or banners or headers, given a bit of time. ^^

Hime and Masayoshi are working on something for the graphics now and Fuicchi says she has the skills with layout, so we're actually looking pretty well-staffed now. But we like art too as well as fic, so we'd love to see your artwork as well!
